Free stuff = good stuff

Please stand by for a moment while all my cheap shines through:

Check out Roni’s new contest! I can win a Nutrition Smart Scale from Eat Smart and so can you! Click here for details!

Yay! The potential for free stuff always makes me happy.

Now I have to go give blood for MaNiC MoMMy's contest. I tried last week but I was turned away. Iron schmiron I always say, but apparently the vampires don't agree. I'm being more diligent about taking my vitamins and eating big ol' steaks , so hopefully when I try again my blood will be worthy.

Have you given blood? If you can give, do give! And send MaNiC MoMMy a picture. And you'll win miiiiillions of dollars and be rich and famous. Or something like that.

(Warning - segue missing. Sorry.)

Did you notice? I'm back in the 130's? Wooo hooo!!!!

The last time two times I tried to give blood I got turned away! Once for my iron, and once because one arm refused to show its blood vessel and the other arm was 'off limits' due to a scrape.

I was turned away because my veins kept disappearing!

Also, one year I couldn't give blood because I went to Europe during the Mad Cow ordeal. I ate no beef but Indian Cuisine sure is tasty! Lots of lamb and chicken. Yum!

I DID notice you're in the 130's... and don't take this personally, but I hate you!!! In a good, utterly jealous way, of course.

Sara and Lora - It's been ages since I've been able to give. Over the last couple years I've taken vacations in places that had malaria issues (in all cases I found this out only when trying to give blood - yikes). Then last week the iron thing ... oh well, try, try again.

Katy - good for you guys! My husband gave last week when I was turned away. He won that race, I guess.

Roni and Kate- yay indeed!

Melissious - You hate me? Don't be a hater! Well, OK. I won't take it personally. Especially since, with all the on-plan-ness and exercising you've got going on, you'll be here in no time.

I give blood, but I might have to stop. :( I'm not sure yet. My mother has a condition that causes her blood to be thicker than normal (she's had several phlebitis already), and it seems that this could be a genetical defect. So if it turns out I have it as well, I may be forbidden to give blood, which would suck. But it's still all one big uncertainty at the moment, so as long as the doctors who I warm about it don't throw me out, I'll go on giving.
